About Us

Chasing Dawn is more than just a brand or a cup of coffee. It's the movement, the drive, the passion, the commitment that Dawn embodied. Dawn was a ray of sunshine with the most beautiful smile that I can proudly say I inherited, thanks mom! Her beauty and energy were paired with a drive and a commitment that I've never seen and only strive to achieve in my own life. She had a fierceness and an intensity to her that could shake you to your core. A Momma Bear in the truest sense of the term.

Coffee became something that we enjoyed together, trying new blends and roasts and having the staples that we enjoyed. Little did we know, there was a great, big, beautiful world of coffee out there that we never got to explore together. What I would give to sit down with her over a cup of (what I now know as good) coffee with her today and ask her all the questions I never thought to ask as a teenager or young adult - her dreams, her mistakes, her advice on raising a family.

It was an absolute gut punch when she got the news. I'll never forget walking into that hospital room seeing the rest of my family huddled around her, my sister curled up in the hospital bed by her side. Words were not necessary, their faces said it all. Stage 4 right out the gate. Being the oldest of her four children I immediately felt responsible for being the rock that my mom had always been for our family. I put on a front, stayed positive, stayed strong, and broke down like a baby the moment my now-wife and I got back into my truck to leave the hospital.

The battle was quick, but it was intense. Watching from the sidelines was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Nothing was working, and insurance kept shooting down any and all experimental treatments. My hands, my family's hands, were tied. That's where this started. A movement to move the needle, to raise awareness, to join the fight in some fashion. Proceeds of every bag get rolled up and donated to a foundation (in the process of finalizing and will announce soon) whose mission is to assist others in gaining access to non-traditional treatments that our insurance companies deem "unsafe" or whatever the fuck reason they choose not to help.

I'm Jeremy, her oldest, the one who couldn't just sit still. Every bag you open, every cup you brew, is a small piece of that spirit, that mission. We're glad you're here. And we're pretty sure that first whiff - and that first sip - will give you every reason to stay.
